SF values

SF is a socialist party. To us, socialism is primarily giving the individual freedom to make his or her own decisions concerning personal life as well as the development of the community by means of comprehensive democracy.

To SF administrating society as we know it is not enough, we insist on improving Denmark. We will replace right-wing values such as egoism, inequality and insecurity by choosing a new course.

SF will make freedom, community, equality and security the guidelines for the development of our society. We will not leave decisions to be made by the market mechanisms and systems; but give the people the opportunity to influence their job, day-care institutions, schools etc.

Politicians must demonstrate courage and vigour to implement long-term visions for a better Denmark. Many decisions are far too important to be left to the market and to capitalist individual interest, for example regarding environment and sustainable development.

• Democracy – all individuals have the potential of influencing his or her life and the development of the community.
• Equality – poverty must not be tolerated and everybody must be given the possibilities and chances of a good life.
• Common future – securing our nature and our world for future generations.
• Global vision – seeing ourselves as part of the global community instead of putting up fences around ourselves
• Solidarity – we are dependant on one another and need each other to create a better common future.
